Luke Sadler on Technology

September 20, 2011

This insight comes from an old ministry partner of mine, Luke Sadler, who currently serves as the Shelby-Tipton County Young Life Area Director. His words are as relevant if not more so for our National Guard Service Members.

“In today's world, social media rules young adults. Facebook and Twitter are where they can voice the deepest cries of their hearts for all the world to see without having to deal with the face to face personal response it would evoke to say it aloud. To connect and communicate with kids, we cannot stop going to where they are and being personally relational, but we can't ignore this new venue either.”

This is what Veterans Chapel is about right now. As Chaplains, we can’t be everywhere, all the time. That’s God’s business.

We can’t even have Chapel service sometimes on Drill Weekends because the mission dictates otherwise.

Our mission is to “bring God to Soldiers and Soldiers to God.” We can do that here!
